Day 64
August 3rd
With 64 days left until I compete in London, people have been wondering how are we preparing for the competition and are we doing anything different for this training cycle. Well I don’t mean to disappoint anyone that’s looking for “the secret” to getting better but we’re doing the same thing that we’ve always done to prepare. I’m currently in the endurance phase of our training cycle, which involves sets of 10 reps for every exercise that listed.
ALOT of Squats and Deadlifts
Right after nationals I was experiencing some low back pain that prevented me from training somedays and made normal living somewhat uncomfortable. I’m happy to report my back and hips are healing up thanks to help from my PT Johanna Powell and Aaron Cunanan, thanks guys. I’m excited about what’s to come in the next 5-6 weeks in gym things should be heating up! Heck I’m feeling so good that I bet my teammate Jarred Fleming dinner that I could out bench him by the end of this cycle. Please note he did 178kg/392lbs the other day and he’s going for more soon. My best here recently has been 150kg/331lbs for a few reps but I know for sure I’m going to win, so I’ll keep you guys posted with the results here soon.
So as you can see not alot has changed on my end, we’re still focused on the overall goals and doing the right things to make them a reality. I hope all is well with you guys and I want to thank you guys again for supporting me.
Also be the look out for what’s coming next!!
